The Commandomatic granular media cartridge filter is an alternative to a fibre cartridge unit. A bottle filled with replaceable media is used instead of a fibre cartridge.

There are two variations of this design:
Variation 1. The simplest and cheapest variation uses a C50 filter housing and a single 12 litre media bottle (with water entry slots) as shown in Picture A
Variation 2. The other alternative uses a C75 filter housing and a combination of a 12 litre media bottle (with centre water entry) and pre-filter cartridge as shown in Picture B
