  • Pool and Spa Solar Heating Kits

The Autumn Solar pool and spa heating system is very simple in its operation.

Using your existing pump, water is pumped from the spa or swimming pool through a multi-tube solar collector panel(which is generally mounted on your house roof), and then back down to the pool. As the water passes through the solar collector it is warmed by the sun.

The collector panels are made from high quality extruded synthetic rubber.

    NOTE:
As a general rule, the collector area should equal pool surface area.
If the collector is a long way to the pool it is recommended that an automatically controlled booster pump is incorporated into the system. Check out the control units under Autumn Solar on this website

The solar collectors are guaranteed for up to fifteen years(pro rata).

A-Pack vave and fitting kiitThe 'A-Pack'
The Autumn Solar 'A-Pack' is a DIY kit which comprises all the clips, tee pieces, and valves necessary to do the installation.

    The 'B-Pack'

B-Pack solar panelThe 'B-Pack' is a pre-constructed 4m x 1m solar panel. The inlet and outlet plumbing is on each end for permanent installation.

To increase the capacity of the solar heating system, simply assemble as many 'B-Packs' as you need to match your pool size. A rough recommendation is to have the total solar panel area equal to the pool surface area.

Each B-Pack comes complete with saddles, repair kit, and anchor strap

    The 'V8-Pack'V8 Solar Panel
The 'V8-Pack' is made up of a pre-constructed 6m x 1m panel. The inlet and outlet plumbing is on one end allowing the panel to be unrolled.

The V8 collector panel is available as a separate item or in a kit including the valves and fittings.

To increase the capacity of the solar heating system, simply assemble as many 'V8 panels' as you need to match your pool size.

Controller Units for Solar Heating Kits

Autumn Solar controllers combine the latest technology with user-friendly design.

There are two models of controller unit and each model is available with either single power outlet or double power outlet(for boosted systems).
All controllers have simple plug-in temperature sensors, and come with a stainless steel mounting bracket plus the hardware required for installation.

    The Digital Controller
Digital controllerThe 'Digital' controller turns the solar pump on when sufficient heat is available at the solar collector.
It has a control knob and an Auto/Manual touch button for manual override function.
Additionally, it has a digital LED display of the actual pool temperature. The LED display also shows the temperature selection when the control knob is adjusted.

    Winter controllerThe Wintermode Controller
The 'Wintermode' controller features electronics that automatically tests water temperature every hour between 8am and 6pm. There is an electronic clock with battery back-up memory retention.
The winter mode setting keeps the solar system and pump in first class condition by running the solar pump periodically.
The digital LED displays the actual pool temperature and solar heated water temperature

The Autumn Solar controllers have a one year warranty and full service back-up.

Parts and Fittings for Solar Heating Kits

To aid the assembly of custom configurations, the solar collector kits can be purchased as independent parts.

    Solar Collector Panels:
Supplied as rolls of 30 linear metres @ 150mm width.
    (1 roll = 4.5 sq metres)

They are available in 8-tube or 12-tube configuration (Diagram right)

    Header pipes:
    Available in several configurations:

8-Barb: For use with an 8-barb solar collector
12-Barb: For use with an 12-barb solar collector
16-Barb: To be used when headers are placed at either end of an 8-tube collector
24-Barb: To be used when headers are placed at either end of a 12-tube collector

    Tile Roof Straps:
Fit on to standard 350mm tiles to hold 2 strips of the collector panels
